so for a time in 2022 i felt like the work culture in the US was gonna get instantly overturned because a few people were complaining on the internet. that didn't end up happening. obviously. but people like me did things like rework "Simmer Down," the 1963 ska anthem by The Wailers backed by The Skatalites (holy shit) to have vaguely inflammatory lyrics.
my boyfriend told me the synth in the beginning is in a different key than the backing. so i tried playing it in the same key as the rest of the instruments and decided i liked that less.
