Inspiration

Puzzle found this on the internet and wanted to follow it. I thought it seemed like a fun project so I asked to help. The following webpage chronicles our journey.

Day Three

Neckwork Continues

We had more work to do on the neck. First we used the dremel some more to carve out a strumming area. Upon completion we noted that this strumming area seemed kind of unnecessary. Maybe it's for reducing the weight of the neck. The guide suggested we scoop out the underside of the neck. We didn't. Then we realized we'd have to scoop out some space for the tuners, so we did that. As we did this, we learned most of the dremel heads we had weren't meant to carve hard wood. We learned that by breaking them all. Eventually we started using a metal head that didn't break. Check out the fun angle of the tuners. For some reason we ran the strings through the pegs before gluing the neck to the body. I forgot to take pictures of us clamping and gluing the neck. I also forgot to take pictures of us cutting the nuts. But I assure you, we did those things.

It's Pretty Much Done Now

It's pretty much done now. Puzzle wanted it to look a little cute so it tried mod podging some fabric to the body. That didn't really work so we just ended up stapling it instead.
